What's going on with this Google Maps?

I'm positioning two websites with the same keywords. One of them is on a first position from almost a year. Another one can't break through top ten. The phrase is regional so I can see clearly that first site of Google is filled with the results that appear on Google Maps.

However there is always first position [my website] which is showing on the first results just because of positioning, not because of Google Maps. The rest of top ten websites is showing on Maps. Thats why I want to put my another website on GMaps. But I just can't throw the site into it. I was trying almost everything, for example:

• well-optimized business Google+ account
• put some profile pictures and site description
• took care about good users opinions on Google+ [not to mention that opinions have been given from real people, not fake accounts]
• added website to the business directories of which Google derives the opinions.

As it turned out, that's all that was not enough, since the keyword which I'm positioning is so competitive. When I did brenchmarking of my competitors performance, I realized that they are not only positioning main website but also its Google+ profile!

It's quite bit funny, because it looks like really simple and natural move of positioning the website in the Google Maps, that is the need to positioning Company Google+ profile! So simple, but not intuitive enough for me to figure out the problem much earlier..

..Of course, there could be many reasons. Site with the first position could mislead me [this website consistently appears at the first position in the search, although it Google+ profile has 0! opinions from users].

Anyway, Google+ profile positioning becomes more and more popular, which means that the direction of modern positioning is also changing, so the question is: How Google itself will react for Google+ profile positioning? How their fight will be looks like and when it happens? Surely answers will come out soon..

What WOMM is?

A lot of SEO specialist uses this technique, but only few of them know what it's called. It is WOM which means WORD OF MOUTH (Polish SEO environment adopted the term 'Szeptanie' which literally means 'Whispering'). Wikipedia explains it as ''the passing of information from person to person by oral communication, which could be as simple as telling someone the time of the day.''

WOMM took its name from the WOM and means a 'WORD OF MOUTH MARKETING', which is also simply explained by Wikipedia, as ''an unpaid form of promotion oral or written in which satisfied customers tell other people how much they like a business, product, service, or event.''

So, using my words, WOMM means nothing else than writing on forums and various websites with the latest gossip, trying to add a comment with link to the positioning website.

What 'Top Heavy' is?

It's is not unecessary knowledge for good seo actions but it is good to know what Top Heavy is, if you want to be a real Seo Master ;P

The first thing you need to remember is that Top Heavy is not Uncle Google's algorithm, but only the name of the Penguin's update, usually called 'page layout algorithm', so it is confusing to many people. This is called Above the Fold update that checks the amount of advertising on the website, which hinder users to access the content of the website and disrupt the transparency of the website. This concerns the ads that you have to scroll to see the real content of the website.
Of course, do not stress if there is one or two such ads on your website. After all, it is a way to make money. But it is mostly about the pages, that contain too much these kinds of ads and this way significantly obstruct the smooth webpage usage by the users. If as a result of Top Heavy activity, your website position will significantly decrease, then it can remain in low position even for a few weeks, so never forget to always place these ads on your webpage carefully and wisely.

If manual filter is applied on your site, usually you can see the information about it in Webmaster Tools messanger. If not, you have to check every else possibilities (duplicate content, unnatural linking etc.). Manual filter you can remove only one way, unless you prefer to wait six months to a year,until the period of imposition of the filter will not expire itself. Therefore, you should followed this few instruction:

2. Send requesting reconsideration to SQT Team, using the standard form:

Of course, if you want people from the composition SQT listened to you, then you have to give them right and admit that your site violated Google's policies, moreover, after that, you need to describe the very precisely, how your website did it, fix it and then promise them that it will not happen again. After about two weeks to a month, you will probably get the answer. If it is positive - yay! We won! If it is not .. hmm, we have a problem..-,- The only reason can be that there is still not removed the cause which violates Google's policy. So check out the whole website carefully and after that, send SQT requesting reconsideration again.

Uncle Google can impose to our website two types of filters:

MANUAL FILTERS	ALGORHYTMIC FILTERS
Main difference: Manual filters are applied manually by the Search Quality Team (SQT), who are working on analyzing spam submissions.	Main difference: Algorithmic filters are applied automatically on site when Google's algorithms, will detect breaking rules, that Google established.

Usually, if manual filter will be applied on your website, you will see this information on special panel for webmasters. When it comes to algorithmic filters, it is quite easy to find out, when alghorithmic filter has been applied on your website. You look at a date on which you have noticed a significant decrease in the position of your website. If the date responds to one of Panda or Penguin update, then you already know that kind of rule you have broken: typically, it is something with unnatural linking or with content. Algorithmic filters are harder to remove than the manual filters, but the second ones, are more difficult to detect, because you can be not informed about them at all The period of the imposition of filter (both manual and algorithmic) can range from six months to over a year. About how find out what kind of filter your site has, and how can you try to remove specific filters, I will write a separate post.

Generally speaking, Panda and Penguin are the most knowing algorithms, which are use by Google to check the content of websites and to sort them in the search results in your browser. Just never know how the algorithms work and what changes they bring with updates, so SEO specialists can rely only on their own assumptions and observations. Small updates of algorithms come approximately every month and usually cause a little changes in the positions of the sites. Major updates of algorithms come an average of two or three times in a year (Google almost never informs you officially about dates of updates and about modifications of an earlier versions of the algorithms), and of course the result is a increase or decrease (often very large) of position of many sites.

Purpose: Penguin is designed to reduce the positions of sites, which he will recognize as 'keyword stuffing', i. e. excessive accumulation of keywords on the page and in code as well as frequently repetitions and sites where he will detect unnatural linking.	Purpose: Panda is designed to reduce the positions of sites that are of poor quality, meaning the sites, which do not have unique but copied content, or whose content is not enough interesting and has no greater value.

'Cataloging' and Your IP -,-

My advice for today concerns adding sites to SEO directories. Remember, that when you're adding your positioned website to the SEO directories, they are, almost always, equipped with special systems that check your IP address, from which you are sending your site to them. Therefore, one of the principles, that can not be overlooked, if you want to position your website with some notable result, is to supply yourself, of a variety of IP addresses. So, be careful with a seemingly simple 'cataloging'. Otherwise, the google-robots will recognize very quick, that something is wrong with your site, and then, they will reduce the position of your site in the rankings, automatically.

Duplicate Content Problem!~

One of the sites, that I optimize is a very peculiar case. I had already been done everything in my power to pull it into the lead in the search results. To no avail. However, the strangest thing is that the other site, was about the same subject and I have been optimizing it on the same phrases after when, the other site very quickly reached the 1st place. I had been wondering what could be the cause of this situation, so I typed in the browser, a piece of text from the page, which allegedly was written personally by my clients ..

Oh stupid Me..! How could I not think of before, that the text on the page is not unique! Although we always ask our clients to care about the original texts on the websites and if they have no ideas about it, we offer them to write unique text. But I didn't even think, that the entire text on her - my client's page (who assured us that interceded content is original created by her) will be alive and completely copied from other texts found in the network!

So I have written new texts to the site and I ping them. After, about 2 weeks, the site finally have started to move from the place. But still, site did it sluggishly and reluctantly, and finally, at one phrase, site stuck in 16th place. Her site still can;t break into the magical top ten.

And I still have no idea what the problem is in. Is it possible that using the same method of positioning the two sites, put one site (easily) in the lead, and the other may not be able to break even for the top twenty? Or maybe it's just punishment for keeping on website kilo plagiarism for so long? -, -

The magic of SEO~

First time since very, very long (to be exact, since I’ve past through my 21st birthday), I can fell, my life moved on. I have been standing in a digging hole of powerless, recklessness and stupidity. But I have never lost hope and faith that my effort won’t be waisted..

..And after that. Something like one week ago, I discovered a magic of SEO…

So, getting back to me (at last it’s my site), I have started to read about it. After one week of making mind-maps, and trying to optimize my own code, I thought: Why not to try? And I started sending my CV. In not even two days I got an answer. That was unbelievable, especially when I was aware of no experience. But everybody should always remember that in IT field, diploma or certificate doesn’t matter, only what counts is your abilities. So I went to a job interview, solved every recruitment’s tasks and I got this job. I couldn’t believe in my abilities, but on job interview I found that I understood everything what my employer said to me and even if I have never worked in job like this before I can manage this..
